9 detained during crackdown on criminals in capital

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – July 17, 2022): Capital Territory Police, in a campaign against anti-social elements, arrested nine outlaws in the past 24 hours in different parts of the city, said a police public relations official.

According to the details, Bhara Kahu Police Team arrested two defendants namely Khuram Nazakat and Aziz and recovered three stolen motorbikes. They also arrested the accused Namat Khan and recovered a 30 caliber pistol and ammunition from him.

Kohsar police teams have arrested two defendants, Ghulam Khan and Mubarak Messiah, involved in illegal gas decantations. Shams Colony police arrested and charged Muhammad Mushtaq with involvement in the illegal sale of oil.

Sabzi Mandi police apprehended a drug trafficker, namely Gul Nazar, and recovered 1,240 grams of hashish from him. Noon Police arrested two defendants Izhat Ullah and Irfan Ullah and recovered two 30 caliber pistols in their possession.

Charges were filed against the named accused and further investigation was ongoing.

The Islamabad Capital Territory Police has accelerated its efforts against criminal elements in the city to curb crime and save lives and property of citizens, the spokesperson said.

The police had also asked citizens to cooperate with the police and inform them of any suspicious activity in their area.
