Canada’s Candy Funhouse offers $100,000 salary for chief taste tester

Do you have a sweet tooth?

Does your partner or kids have an even bigger one?

Now might be the time to cash in on your family’s guilty pleasure, as Canadian candy store Candy Funhouse claims he hires his very first head of confectionery.

The confectionery apparently doesn’t skimp on salary either.

The job posting on LinkedIn says the new candy manager will be offered $100,000 a year.

The candy manager will be responsible for testing the taste of more than 3,500 different types of candy per month, while deciding whether those candies are worthy of Candy Funhouse, the company says.

Candy Funhouse says it’s the largest online candy store in Canada; he is based in Toronto.

It features sweet favorites like Laffy Taffy, Sour Patch Kids, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Kit-Kats.

There are certain eligibility requirements for the position.

Anyone residing in North America over the age of five can apply for the position, according to the company.

The position may be remote – or the candidate may work from the Toronto office or the Newark, NJ office

Candidates will undergo extensive palate training to test their sense of taste, the details of the list.

Candy Funhouse insists she’s looking for a candy chef who’s enthusiastic, has no food allergies and has golden taste buds.

The CCO won’t have to worry about cavities either.

Why? That’s because Candy Funhouse will provide comprehensive dental care, he says.

“All you need is a passion for candy, pop culture, and a sweet tooth,” the article read.

Candidates can apply for the position on LinkedIn before the August 31, 2022 deadline, the company says.

Candy Funhouse CEO Jamal Hejazi said in a press release that contestants should have an “underlying enthusiasm and desire” for sweets.

The executive said the company was looking for a creative “born leader” with an open mind and honest opinions.

“Here at Candy Funhouse, we are all about FUN, and who better to define our FUNhouse strategy than someone who is a real candy fanatic!” said the CEO.

“Whoever lands this job better be ready for the ride of their life and have chocolate flowing through their veins,” the CEO also said in the same press release.

“I’m thrilled with all the candy adventures we have planned!”

Chief taste tester isn’t the only position currently open. The company says it’s also looking for a “Social Media Personality”, “Shopify Developer” and “Search Engine Optimization Writer”.
