LAHORE, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – June 14, 2022): Capital Lahore DIG Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana chaired meetings to review crime statistics from Sadar and Iqbal city divisions as well as the status of the cases under investigation.
CHC reviewed the overall performance of Circle Officers, SHOs and Investigation Managers for the month of May. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the poor performance of the SHOs in apprehending drug traffickers, recovering narcotics and illegal weapons, enforcing the national action plan, the law on security establishments vulnerable people of Punjab, from the arrest of notorious criminals and proclaimed offenders while being reprimanded. for failing to complete the investigation of heinous crime cases including murders, attempted murders, kidnappings and robberies within a given time frame.
CCPO Lahore said that if an SHO is involved in safeguarding organized crimes including drug trafficking, gambling and brothels, strict legal and departmental action will be taken. The performance of SDPOs, SHOs and investigations in charge would be evaluated based on their performance in recovering illegal drugs and weapons, implementing the national action plan, local and special laws, Vulnerable Establishments Security Act and prompt investigation of ongoing cases, he added.
He ordered officers not to arrest innocent people in designated cases if they are found not guilty and to send the real culprit to prison.
He said a month and a half was given to the SHOs and the investigation in charge to improve their performance, but the officers did not comply. He said circle officers, supervisors, SHOs and investigators should make special efforts to quickly complete investigations of abducted and missing child recovery cases. Lists of notorious criminals and proclaimed as well as targeted offenders have been provided to all police stations, so that police officers should undertake concrete efforts to catch them in order to eliminate crime in the city.
