New Delhi, June 16: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in the nation’s capital and the accused has been arrested, a police official said Thursday.

A PCR call was received on June 14 at around 9 p.m. regarding the assault of an underage girl.
“When the police arrived at the scene, the victim claimed to have been molested by his neighbor Hasib Ahmed on the same day at around 4 p.m.,” said DCP (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi.
Subsequently, the victim was medically examined at Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital.
As a result, the police registered an FIR under Sections 323, 354, 354-B of the Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of the POCSO Act at Wazirabad Police Station.
“The accused was arrested the same day and then taken into custody for 14 days by a local court,” the official added.
