Dr Jeffrey Todd Duff, 60, of McAlester, died on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the PAM Specialist Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on January 10, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas, to Thomas Kenneth and Patricia Hueanna (Baker) Duff.
Jeff loved and honored God with the life he led. He loved his family faithfully, fiercely and intentionally and his friends loyally. His greatest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life Miss Laura Leigh Lalli on January 10, 1981. Caring for others came naturally to Jeff, it was very important to him. He not only showed it to his family and friends, but also to others.
Jeff has achieved many accomplishments during his life. In 1987, Jeff graduated from the NSU School of Optometry. He moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma and purchased the practice from Dr. Duty, which he had for nine years. In 1996, he sold his practice and returned home to McAlester and opened his new practice, McAlester Vision Center. In 2018, he sold his practice to Dr Mazzare. He continued to work for her, as well as for Dr. Bill Parker at his clinic in Vian, Oklahoma. He was a member of the State Board of Optometry for 2 years, as well as a certified optometrist at the US national level.
He was more than just an optometrist, for many he was someone they could confide in and trust. Jeff enjoyed working outdoors and gardening with his wife Laura. Most of the time after work you might find him on his lawn mower or building something for the pigs, chickens, or the garden. When the sun went down, he would go inside to watch an episode or two of Andy Griffith or spend time with his family. Jeff and Laura went to Mount Airy to visit Mayberry and were able to drive a replica police car from the show. Jeff also enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends. Weekends in Tulsa, mission trips to Kenya or family trips to Ireland, if it was an adventure, Jeff was there. If you knew Jeff, you also knew his love for concerts (and concert T-shirts). Music was a major passion for Jeff and he lived that passion by seeing as many bands live as possible. Jeff was a beloved husband, father, pappy and friend to many and he was loved so much. His loyalty and selflessness knew no bounds, and he always went out of his way to serve others.
