Minister of Education Withholds Principal’s Salary in Odisha’s Balasore; Know why

Balasore: The Minister of Schools and Mass Education, Sameer Dash, on Saturday ordered to withhold the salary of school headmistress Mahaveer Nodal in Mathasahi in Balasore district of Odisha after students in the class 3 did not recite the multiplication table of 3 during his visit to the school.

Dash held both the class teacher and the principal accountable for the dire situation and ordered the DEO to serve a notice of demonstration on the principal and withhold her salary until the children were able to recite. multiplication tables from 2 to 15.

Dash has been making the rounds in schools after a new ‘T’ (Tower) was added to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s 5T governance model. Naveen urged his new Cabinet to tour the state extensively to make things better.

Interestingly, earlier on Saturday, Dash and Balasore MLA Swarup Das were fined Rs 1,000 for violating traffic regulations in Balasore.

The deputy was driving a two-wheeler with Dash as a passenger. None wore a helmet. They were stopped by traffic police near Hemkapada Chhak.

Dash then deposited the amount of the fine at the traffic police station.
