Nagad employees donate a day’s pay to support flood victims

Company announces donation of 5.0 million TK including one month salary of MD

Nagad Limited employees will donate their one-day wages to help those affected by floods in Sylhet and Sunamganj region and to support those affected by the disaster.

Tanvir A Mishuk, Managing Director of Nagad Limited, made the announcement during a virtual event, titled “Manush Bachle Desh Bachbe”, hosted by the Postal Department’s Mobile Financial Service, according to a press release.

In addition, the NAGAD MD announced that his full month’s salary to the Disaster Relief Fund.

Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, Chairman of Obhijatrik Foundation and Mohammad Saifullah Mithu, Chairman and Co-Founder of Give Bangladesh Foundation also joined the session, which was moderated by Solaiman Shukhon, Director of Public Affairs of Nagad Limited.

In an effort to lend a helping hand in the midst of this natural disaster, Tanvir A Mishuk announced that Nagad employees have voluntarily offered their equivalent day’s wages as a donation to help flood victims.

“In addition to this, Nagad, as a socially responsible entity, has declared a separate contribution from all of its transactional revenue for the previous two months to the flooded areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj,” the Nagad MD said.

He expressed his gratitude to Nagad employees for taking the initiative during the national crisis.

According to the press release, Nagad’s regional employees in Sylhet and Sunamganj, including Nagad ‘Uddoktas’, are assisting flood victims by providing prompt transactional support and other services.

During the Monday program, Nagad also urged people from all walks of life to help fight the flood disaster.

The press release states that Nagad, in partnership with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, contributed Tk6.0 million to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

Nagad says that more than 50 partner donation organizations accept donations through Nagad to help flood victims in the Sylhet region.

“Any user of Nagad interested can easily make a direct donation from the donation option of any Nagad account,” he added.
