Plateau: Hold Lalong Accountable for Unpaid North Langtang Workers’ Wages

From Gyang Bere, Jos

The Hon. Joshua Ubandoma said Governor Simon Lalong is responsible for the lack of payment of workers in the council area.

He explained that he had six court judgments against the state government challenging the illegal and forced termination of his term, but the governor deliberately refused to grant him access to the council secretariat to complete his term of office. ‘a year.

Ubandoma revealed this at a press briefing in Jos on Saturday and said he had written to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to pay council workers, but the government had refused to honor Requirement.

Ubandoma, who had frozen the local government account based on court rulings in his favour, wrote in June and August 2022 for the government to release funds and pay local government workers, but the state government remained categorical.

“My victory in the courts is a victory for democracy in Nigeria I can assure you the precedent I have set in the Plateau except the current APC administration distraught in the state to tax all local government chairpersons without election.

“Governor Simon Lalong is about to destroy the Tarok Nation, he is about to destroy the hard-won democracy he enjoys because there were no vacancies in North Langtang when the so-called elections took place. occurred.”

Ubandoma noted that because he is a law-abiding Nigerian citizen, he allowed the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) to organize the election which was only contested by the APC and urged the governor to pay the workers their wages.

“I am disappointed with Lalong and I say that the Governor should release the wages of Langtang North workers, the court ordered the release of the wages and I gave my consent.

“The people of North Langtang should hold Governor Lalong accountable for any law breaking because the court orders and judgments are very clear, so he must obey, I am not fighting a personal fight.”

Similarly, Ubandoma also disclosed that there was a plot to assassinate him and the Member representing Langtang North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Beni Lar by unknown persons and said the matter had been reported to the police.
