Private bus operators call off protest after meeting finance minister and transport minister

Private bus operators in Punjab have canceled their protest proposal after Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar agreed to consider their legitimate demands benevolently.

The two ministers had a meeting with the private operators in Punjab Bhawan where their demands were discussed one by one. The Ministers assured them that the government is sincere and wants to develop the State by involving all layers of society.

“It is government policy to provide employment to all sections of society in various fields without favouritism,” the ministers said, while adding that a large number of young people also make their living from the private bus industry. . Therefore, their legitimate demands will be given sympathetic consideration and, keeping this in mind, the government has recently launched the amnesty program to relieve private bus operators, they added.

After the insurance, representatives of the Punjab Motor Union, an organization of private bus operators, canceled their upcoming protest programme.
