Chandigarh, August 6: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his Cabinet colleague Harpal Cheema appeared in Chief Judicial Magistrate Aman Inder Singh’s court here on Saturday in a two-year-old riot case.

However, the court granted a waiver to appear for another cabinet minister, Aman Arora.
A case has been filed against AAP leaders including Mann and Cheema accused of throwing stones at Chandigarh police during a protest on January 10, 2020.
They were charged with rioting, assaulting and obstructing police in the performance of their duties near the MLA hostel in Sector 4, Chandigarh.
At the previous hearing on March 23, Mann, Cheema and other leaders were asked to appear in the Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Mann was represented by lead attorney Anmol Rattan Sidhu and attorney Pratham Sethi.
According to the police, half a dozen officers were injured when AAP supporters allegedly started throwing stones at them.
