Recruitment of BIS scientists via GATE score, salary at Rs 90,000

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has invited applications from eligible GATE qualified engineering graduates to fill 22 B Scientist positions. The vacancies cover different fields of engineering including civil, chemical, textile and electrical. Applications for the mentioned position will only be accepted online at bis.gov.in up to 21 days from the publication of the advertisement on January 24.

Out of a total of 22 positions, 15 are for the non-reserved category, 3 positions are for OBC (NCL) candidates and 2 positions each are reserved for SC and EWS category candidates. In addition, 1 seat each under the Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering positions has been reserved for PwD candidates. Applications by any other means will not be accepted under any circumstances. Recruitment is subject to central government reserve policies.

BIS Scientist Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification: To be eligible to apply for this recruitment, the candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant engineering field with at least 60% overall marks. Also, it is mandatory to have a valid GATE 2019/20/21 score.

Age limit: The age limit for recruitment is 21 to 30 years old. However, a relaxation applicable in the upper age limit will be granted to candidates in the reserved categories in accordance with the regulations.

BIS 2022 Scientist Recruitment: Selection Process

Initial screening will be based on the candidate’s GATE score. This will be followed by a series of personal interviews for the final selection.

BIS Scientist Recruitment 2022: Salary

Selected candidates will be entitled to remuneration in Pay Grade 10 in accordance with the 7th Central Remuneration Commission in addition to applicable allowances. The gross salary at the time of joining the positions would be around Rs 90,000 in Delhi.
