Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson is considered to be one of India’s most talented batsmen and has been an important player in the IPL. However, the Kerala batter failed to break into international cricket. He made his T20I debut for India in 2015 but has only featured in 13 games so far with a maximum of 39; he played just one ODI last year.
Born on November 11, 1994 in Vizhinjam, Trivandrum, Sanju Samson was a teenage prodigy at under-19 level and made his first class debut at the age of 18 and his IPL debut at 19. He played for Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals and last season was named skipper of RR. He was held back for 14 crores by the inaugural champions ahead of IPL 2022.
Talking about his salary and net worth, Samson wins a 14 crore deal with RR and also matches the BCCI fee; he is not part of BCCI’s annual contract as he is not a regular in the Indian team. His salaries from the IPL were his main source of income.
His net worth as reported by caknowledge.com is $9 million which is INR 67 crore!
Also, not many people know, but Samson’s debut IPL year 2011 was in Kolkata Knight Riders for 8 lakh. Then he was bought by RR for 10 lakh in 2012. He then won hefty contract increases: 4 crore for the next two seasons with RR; 4.2 crores for a few seasons with Delhi when RR was banned. RR scooped it up for 8 crore in 2018 for four years and has now held it back for 14 crore.
Sanju Samson also endorses several brands where he charges a huge sum – 1 crore apparently – of money. Sanju Samson’s net worth is estimated to have increased by 40% in the past few years.
Talking about his family, Sanju lived with his father Samson Vishwanath and his mother Lizzie Vishwanath and his brother Celie Samson. His father was a government official. Sanju Samson completed his education from Rosary Senior Secondary School in Delhi and got his BA from Trivandrum Mar Ivanios College where he met his then girlfriend Charulatha. The couple married in 2018.
Known for his flamboyant batting style, Sanju Samson owns a luxury designer house in his hometown, Vizhinjam. He also owns several real estate properties across the country. The RR Skipper is not known to have a great interest in cars and has a small collection, but the ones he owns are some of the most luxurious cars in the country.
