Three separate murders rock UP’s capital

Three murders, including that of a Class 11 student for a romance, rocked the state capitol here on Sunday.

The first incident took place in Jugrajganj village of Malihabad when Rohit Kumar, 18, was stabbed to death in his girlfriend’s house at midnight on Saturday. Police said the girl’s two cousin brothers, Amit Kumar and Abhishek, attacked him with a knife and stabbed him brutally several times after finding him inside the house.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Hridesh Kumar said Rohit Kumar and Kajal studied at the same school and the incident happened when Kajal’s family went to attend a wedding ceremony.

He said Kajal called Rohit Kumar’s family and informed them about the incident. He said the two assailants escaped after committing the crime and further efforts were underway to apprehend them.

In a separate incident, Mohit Sahu, 35, was allegedly murdered by his younger brother during a family dispute in Chinhat at midnight on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP), Lucknow Qasim Abidi, said the victim’s body was found lying in a house under construction near Dayal Residency below the boundaries of Chinhat Police Station on Sunday morning.

The ACP said the victim’s wife, Chandrani Sahu, filed an FIR under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for murder against the victim’s younger brother, 23-year-old Bhupendra Sahu. . Bhupendra had a dispute with Mohit Sahu earlier over a small issue, after which he threatened to kill Mohit.

In the third incident, the body of a 25-year-old carpenter, Nadir, was found on Sunday morning in a field near the Palka canal below Gudamba police station. Police said the face and head of Nadir, who resided in Bhakamau in Gudamba region, had been badly crushed with bricks and stones.

The Additional Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), North, Prachi Singh said the victim’s brother, Mohd Arif, informed the police that the victim had been missing since Saturday night when he left for the market from Behta around 7 p.m. She said the plaintiff had filed an FIR under Article 302 of the ICC for murder against Nadir’s friend Taufiq and his accomplices in this case. She said Taufiq was found missing from his home when police raided after getting information about the incident. Other efforts are underway for his arrest.

She said the initial investigation suggested Nadir was killed for a romance with a girl.
