Woman gives Rs 1 lakh ‘supari’ to kill husband in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: An extramarital affair drives a woman to hire a “supari” killer to eliminate her husband in the state capitol.

Although the murder plan was foiled, the victim Binayak Behera, who works as a senior section engineer at the Manchewar railway workshop, was seriously injured in the attack on the hitman Jitendra. Meanwhile, the police arrested the hitman and charged the wife’s lover Ashok Sahu.

Sources said the accused woman Twinkle had developed an illicit relationship with her husband’s driver, Ashok, from the Hatatota area of Angul. To eliminate her husband, the wife had given Rs 1 lakh ‘supari’ to Jitendra.

In accordance with the murder plan, Jitendra and his assistant had carried out a deadly attack on Binayak near the Manchewar sports complex on April 16. However, few youngsters rescued him in critical condition and admitted him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The victim later lodged a complaint against the three at the police station in Manchewar, following which cops raided an apartment and caught Ashok. The cops also arrested the hitman. However, Twinkle is still at large.

During his interrogation, Ashok confessed to his crime.

Police are on the lookout for others involved in the attack.
